This is definitely a one-of-a-kind necklace, which someone lovingly created over many years.

The foundation is an antique 12K French chain. From it, hang five very old glass seals. Each seal is attached to the chain with a lovely gold "rope." It's apparent from their slightly different sizes and colors that the necklace started with the center seal. Then the next two, and finally the last two.

I cannot translate the seals, but they appear to be in Latin and at least one in French. Given their age, it's not surprising that there are various chips, which I have done my best to show in the photographs.

It measures 18" and it weighs 48.4 grams. Truly a special piece of history!
